RE: Daytona Bikeweek

We always camp at the same place for the Daytona 500 and this year we stayed there for Bike Week. It is located directly behind the Hooters that is across the street from the speedway. This puts you just outside the action but close enough to get anywhere easily. They have hookup and a shower house. Also have port-o-johns that they clean several times a day. They take good care of you there.

RE: Portable Propane Heater

I used a Buddy Heater in a small trailer for years. It will shut off if it senses not enough O2.

RE: Where do you keep your electrical cord?

The driver's side front compartment on my Toy Hauler is the electrical area. I wrap it up and lock it in there.

RE: ladder on side going down road?

My ladder it mounted on the back door. Like said above, you just pull four pins, remove the ladder and open the gate. I have seen a small RV fire where the guy couldn't get up on the roof because he left his ladder home. We had to use a truck, step ladder, and a good push to get up there with a fire extinguisher.

RE: Ranking the Toy Haulers

I've seen a bunch of toy haulers going to many different offroad races for years. I've seen many Gearboxes with problems. The upper priced KZ's seem very nice but the cheaper ones are definitely cheap. I thought the Raptors and Cyclone were nice but too heavy. I really love my CrossRoads CrossTerrain and have met many other people who feel the same way.

RE: Weekend Warrior - Parts

Saw this release on www.gnccracing.com
For Immediate Release:
An ex-Warrior General Manager has taken the opportunity to create a new business catering specifically to the brands customers who may be feeling a little left out in the cold after the company's demise.
Without wasting a second, Larry Broyles has conceived and opened "Warrior Lifestyles RV Store", a Weekend Warrior and Ragen certified parts and service center that will offer all current and obsolete RV parts, as well as on site, certified service out of their Perris, CA location. Warrior Lifestyles will also offer a new website; http://www.warriorlifestylesrvstore.com/, which will make the entire RV parts catalog available to everyone, everywhere.
The closing of Warrior Manufacturing has been a major shock to the RV community. However, Warrior Lifestyles aims to continue serving the thousands of valuable Weekend Warrior and Ragen customers out there who still want to keep their trailers looking great. Please check out http://www.warriorlifestylesrvstore.com/today for more information.

RE: Fifth wheel height problems

I measured mine with a level to the top of the front A/C and then a tape measure to the ground. 13'3" and I clear everything around here.

Is it a ticking like the generator hour meter running? That's the only clicking I could think of.

RE: Roadglide bottoming out

We used to put some wood under the ramp and then use a small ramp to get up onto the RV ramp. That decreases the angle coming into the garage. Several companies make little ramps to use in this case. They are designed to getting lowered race cars into their race trailers.

RE: Tire recommendations for tow vehicle...updated!!

I have the Nitto Terra Grapplers on my truck. 2005 Chevy 2500 SRW. Tires worked great but wore out faster than I expected. Now they are noisy on the highway. I'll be trying something else this winter when I have to replace them. Pretty much not even a year out of them.
CrazyTed
Does anyone have experience with Nitto Tires?
Specifically the Nitto Dura Grappler
LT245/75R16 E 120R 3042@80
LT285/75R16 E 126R 3750@80
I have stock 245/75R16s on my 2006 Chevy Crew Cab 4x4. I think I can go up to the 285s without any issues.
I just put a set of the Nitto Terra Grapplers on my 05 2500 HD with the stock forged alum rims. I went 285 75 16 E rated. These replaced some 285 75 16 D rated BFG AT's. So far so good, they ride well on the highway and are pretty quiet. My first time pulling will be next week. They were consdierably less $$ than the BFG's and my neighbor who owns a tire shop recommended them over the BFG's for the value. We will see how well they hold up.

RE: propane powered generators

I use a Yamaha 3000 w/ the boost. I had looked at LP generators but the ones I looked at were loud. I was able to pick up the Yamaha for under $2000.

RE: Charging batteries from truck

On my Chevy all I had to do was replace a "fake" fuse under the hood with the correct fuse to use the towing functions on the truck. That took care of any charging issues and it was listed in the owner's manual.

RE: Generator

If it flashed low oil, add some oil to it. They are very picky about oil level. Other than that, the TV should not make a difference. You're not using that much power.

RE: Filling Fuel Station

I have to place wood under the wheels of my rig to tilt it away from the pump so I can fill it faster and get it full. I don't have to tilt it too much, just one board usually unless the gas station lot is really off camber.

I went to the local Northern Tool and purchased a better fuel nozzle as I though mine was cheap. No problems.
